CHANGING LIFESTYLE

The thought of a lifestyle change is one of the things that we all go through when we slow down enough to realize that we want better for our bodies and our lives, or the things we have been doing are not bringing the results we desire. The knowing is simple, it is the doing that we have a hard time with. It is not so much knowing what to do, it is the way we go about the doing those things we know are good for us, that make it hard to continue doing them that is difficult. We make a plan to make changes in the ways we eat, exercise, communicate and so on. These plans bring us a sense of excitement and energy that gets us on a fast track to do what we feel we need to do that works for a week or two until we let our old habits, excuses  or justifications bring us down and we fail to continue the change we desired.

Our best course of action to maintain continued change is to take our time and set small bench marks of accomplishments that rewards us for our continued earnestness. When we take our time and establish habits that not only work for us but that we can continue with the least amount of discomfort or challenge. Taking small steps and establishing good habits that work is the best way to keep up the momentum and positive attitude that bring success in establishing lasting and maintainable lifestyle change.

“Listen to your body, it will guide you to what you need.”

We all know that we should drink more water, eat less and get more exercise, as just a start of the many other things we can do for our health and well being. We may not as healthy as we can be, be our ideal weight or have the body we desire. We all know that we can and have seen others make drastic changes in their appearances and health. We know that this happened from a change in their lifestyle and that they did something different than what they used to do, to have those results. It is ok, to be ok with the body you have, unless it is not serving you the way you would want it to or if your health suffers, or if you can’t do the things you want to do, or, or, or… Anything short of doing what we know and have learned is right for our bodies, is shrouded in justifications and excuses for not being, or doing what it takes, to be in our best physical condition for right now. We just need to stop making excuses and finding justifications and take full responsibility for our lives. We can reverse the choices we have made in the past and not make them in the future. Any step in the right direction toward health is just that, a step in the right direction.

Take a Walk

Walking is about the best exercise there is. There is so much to see in this world that we don’t see in our hurried lives. Slow down and take a walk.

What do you eat?

You are what you eat and our health depends on the things we put into our bodies, not just our physical but our mental and emotional health depends on fueling ourselves correctly and keeping our bodies in top shape for the way we want to be. Having a healthy kitchen means a healthy you, but only if we decide to make some changes in the things we put into our bodies and the things we consume. Our kitchen is only where we start to make changes and begin to see the results that make us want to continue to make good choices in the fueling of our lifestyles. The good news is that when we make a decision to change our food habits we only have to start small making a few changes at a time. We eventually find, the little things we have learned to do, have not reduced our enjoyment of our foods or left us lacking, only made us feel better.

Perfect Health

Perfect health can only be realized when we are doing the things we need to do to have or be the body we are meant to be or have. We all have things we like and dislike about our bodies or physical appearance, while we may accept the things we need to improve, we need to take action to improve them. Perfect health begins with connecting our minds and spirits with our bodies.

Drink Water

Let’s look at how water is important to our health and the ways we can use it to cut out or at least down on things like coffee, soda, processed fruit juices and alcohol. Water is good for us because it quenches our thirst, fills us up, keeps things moving, washes toxins from our bodies and keeps our blood moving. The greatest benefit of water consumption is that it balances out our bodies by washing away fat and creating a hydrated state that keeps us from feeling hungry, thereby aiding our bodies to achieve an ideal body weight and better overall health. We can drink a little warm water with lemon in the morning, before our morning coffee, to help with digestion and detoxification. Throughout the day we can have a water bottle that we can drink from and refill to help again with thirst and hydration This helps to keep us from grabbing something like soda to quench our thirst, or coffee that we drink all day just to have something. These may be hard things to cut out right away because of a slight addiction that we have to the caffeine or the sugar that is in these things. Substituting water for what we drink with our lunch is easier if it has Ice and a flavor to it (something citrus is great, an orange, lemon or lime slice should do the trick. The same goes at dinner where if we do decide to have a soda we can at least have a glass of water as well.

Reduce Stress

There will always be stresses in our lives that we encounter and have to deal with. Mental and emotional stresses combined with the pressures of family and work, though mostly centered in our minds manifest in physical symptoms and ailments. Our physical health depends on mental well-being and when we don’t have to spend our efforts on combating stress our body can concentrate its healing efforts on being healthy.

Diet Exercise Choices

The human body is a work of wonder that we have to find a connection with that takes into account the three things that are important to caring for it the best we can while we are in it. First is diet. We need to make sure we are fueling it as we need to in order to have the energy to do the things that we want to do in our lives and to maintain a level of health thatkeeps us from having to face the concequences of poor choices in our diets, this includes diabetes , heart disease and a majority of the other things that people suffer from, . Second we need to make sure keep it in the best shape that we can so we use it to our advantage to do the things that we enjoy oing and to function at our best to when we need to. Last the choies we make determine the way our bodies will serve us now and in the future.
People are always looking to change their bodies and feel better, yet make excuses as to why they cant or shouldn’t take care of their bodies as the should. Care for our bodies really is about personal responsibility and figuring out the things that we can do different that makes us feel better. We all have a tendency to want quick fix to our problems when it comes to everything else and that includes our bodies. When we take the quick fix where our bodies are concerned we are really cheating ourselves because we need to be in it for the long haul or we will find ourselves trying to fix ourselves again. This is especially true when it comes to weight loss and maintaining the weight that we find ideal. Being resolute about the fact that we like to look and feel good, is about the long tem benefits of a program that we can continue to work to be able to be the way we want to be. We need to start somewhere anywhere to have any change. Even the people we look at as realy healthy and that have great bodies have things that they can do to be and feel better. Eexcess in anything can be unhealthy even working at being healthy. We need to tke it slow and understand the desired outcome of our endevours. When we know what it I that we want we e about a plan to get it. When we say we want to lose ten pounds that is great but what do we need to do to maintain the loss once we achieve it. My question would be is it that you want to lose ten pounds or that you just want to fit into the pants you already have? Understanding that fat not just becaue of the things we eat and lack of exercise but choices we make as well, we do all kinds of thing that are counter productive to our final goal, eating the wronthings is only part of it. How often we eat the amount and the beverages we consume will make or break us when it comes to the quest for a desired outcome.

GET SLEEP

Get plenty of shut eye. In order to be the best we can be, when we are awake, we need to ensure that we get an adequate amount of sleep. The benefits of sleep are both mental and physical bringing balance in both our thoughts and our hormones. Sleep give our bodies the chance to repair and plays a major roll in stress reduction. Knowing the proper amount of sleep that we need is better figured out by establishing a habit of a regular sleep schedule and sticking to it as best as possible.
