The Essence of Spirit: Embracing Our True Nature
Finding our True Self is about harmonizing our human experience with the deeper, eternal presence of Spirit within us. We are both physical and spiritual beings, walking the delicate balance between earthly existence and divine connection. Our Spirit—the essence of who we are—is not something separate or distant but is the very force that unites us with all things, all people, and all of existence itself.
The real challenge is not in understanding that we are Spirit; deep down, we already know this truth. Instead, our greatest task is to fully connect with the infinite source of that Spirit—to awaken to our divine nature and recognize our role in the greater web of life. The age-old questions, Where do we come from? and Why are we here? are not just philosophical musings; they are signposts guiding us back to our Source.
Our Role as Spiritual Beings
When we embrace our role as spiritual beings—an inseparable part of the “Ultimate Energy That Is”—we unlock the potential for a life of joy, purpose, and fulfillment. This awareness brings with it a profound realization: we do not exist in isolation. Our lives are intertwined with those around us, and our choices ripple outward, shaping both our personal journeys and the collective experience of humanity.
At first, this responsibility can feel overwhelming. What is my purpose? How do I honor my spiritual path? What am I meant to contribute to the world? While our individual expressions of spirituality may differ, at the core, we share a universal truth—we are all connected.
“There is no beginning or end to anything.”
Pause and let that sink in. Every moment, every action, every thought is part of a continuous flow of energy, shaped by the past and influencing the future. Everything we do reflects who we are, and everything we are has been shaped by all that came before us. When we recognize this, we stop seeing life as a series of isolated events and instead begin to understand the deeper, sacred interconnectedness of all things.
We come from the same Source, and we will return to it. But in this brief, beautiful human experience, we are given the gift of choice—to embrace our divinity, to live with purpose, and to honor our connection with the universe and each other. The more we align with this truth, the more we awaken to the infinite possibilities of Spirit in our lives.

Becoming a Light Through Love of the Spirit
The greatest treasure I can hold isn’t material—it’s the love of the spirit within me. When I choose to honor that sacred energy, I tap into something far greater than myself. In a universe so vast, it’s humbling to realize I am only a small part of the whole. But that humility doesn’t diminish me—it empowers me. Because in that smallness, I see my place in the interconnected web of all life. I see that I’m not here to dominate, prove, or conquer. I’m here to shine.
To love from the spirit is to choose love without condition. It’s to recognize that my essence—beneath the ego, the story, the personality—is rooted in something timeless. When I choose to let that spirit move through me, my energy becomes a beacon. A steady light in a world that can feel heavy with fear, anger, and disconnection. I don’t have to fix the whole world. But I can choose to love, to stay open, and to be present. That alone creates ripples I may never fully see.
With humility, I offer my light to others—not to be admired, but to help warm their hearts. I don’t shine to be seen. I shine so others might remember that they, too, carry a light. We are all made of the same divine energy, the same sacred spark. Sometimes, all someone needs is to feel seen, to feel safe, to feel love without judgment. When I live from that space, I become a reflection of the peace and love I hope to see in the world.
Loving from the spirit also means embracing forgiveness. Not just for others, but for myself. It means letting go of what weighs me down—resentment, anger, fear—and trusting that love is strong enough to carry me forward. Even when I falter, even when the world feels dark, the light never truly leaves. It waits, patiently, for me to return to it. And when I do, I find myself once again at peace, once again whole.
This is the journey of spiritual love. Not perfection, but intention. Not loud proclamations, but quiet truth. I walk it every day, not just for myself, but for those who walk beside me—those who may not yet see their own light. In loving from the spirit, I remember who I truly am: a vessel of peace, a reflection of divine love, and a part of something far greater than I could ever imagine.
“No one was ever great without some portion of divine inspiration” Marcus Cicero
Inspiration—In Spirit Action
The fire within, that drives us and makes us dig deeper to do what is right, is another of those things that is different from person to person. What is it that inspires you? Is it another person, or values you try to live by, or just doing what you have to do to be the person you want to be? Just how do we ignite that fire in us and when we are fired up, being truly inspired, is there anyone who can stop us?
Inspiration is spirituality at its best, for when we are doing what we feel deep down is right and know that in our spirit, it leads us to action. When we know that action is directed by what is right for our spirit and that fire inside is burning bright we are finding true and meaningful inspiration.
When we are having trouble finding true in-spir-ation and are troubled in our meditation or it is not bringing us closer to finding the right direction, we may need to look deeper at our motives behind the need for inspiration and change or adjust the desired results to find the best “In Spirit Action” for us to follow. A Day of Inspired Living
Today, I choose to look for inspiration in everyone and everything I encounter. Every moment, every interaction, every quiet breath offers the potential to open my heart a little wider and remind me that life is a constant teacher. I will carry with me a higher sense of good—in all things, in all people, and even in the challenges that rise to meet me. Each situation becomes a stepping stone toward deeper understanding, compassion, and purpose.
This morning, I watched a single blade of grass swaying gently in the breeze. It bent gracefully when the wind asked it to, yet stood tall again as the air passed. In that quiet moment, nature whispered a powerful lesson to me: bend where you must, but never forget to rise. We are all given the choice to stand tall in who we are, even after life has carried us in unexpected directions. True strength lives in our softness, and wisdom grows in our willingness to yield when it’s needed.
To walk a spiritual path is to step into a world alive with inspiration. It raises us to see through the lens of love—where giving becomes sacred and receiving becomes gratitude in motion. We lift each other up simply by showing up with presence, patience, and an open heart. And when we can’t believe in ourselves, may we trust those who do. Sometimes the miracle we need most is someone else’s faith in us, holding the door open until we’re ready to walk through it ourselves.
Let us not forget the power of laughter. We do not grow old because of time—we grow old because we forget to laugh. So let’s laugh often, deeply, and without reason. Let’s live with joy, love with courage, and remember that happiness is not found in perfection but in our presence, our resilience, and our ability to find light in the everyday.
When we find that peace within, it begins to radiate outward. It softens our words, strengthens our connections, and calms the storms in others. The inner peace we cultivate becomes a quiet blessing in the lives of those around us. So today, let’s live inspired. Let’s be the reason someone smiles, someone heals, someone believes again. Let’s be a mirror of the good that still exists in the world.
“The glory of friendship is not the outstretched hand, nor the kindly smile, nor the joy of companionship; it’s the spiritual inspiration that comes to one when he discovers that someone else believes in him and is willing to trust him as his friend.”
Ralph Waldo Emerson
Love of the Spirit
The love of the spirit is the greatest asset I can ever possess.
To truly respect that I am but a small part of this vast and infinite universe is to embrace humility—and in that humility, I choose love. I choose to let the energy of my spirit radiate love, compassion, and peace. That choice makes me a light—steady, warm, and enduring—shining through the darkness of all that is not love.
With a humble heart, I allow this light to shine—not for recognition, but to offer comfort, healing, and inspiration. I shine so that others may feel safe to open their own hearts. So they, too, can recognize and love the divine spirit within themselves.
In this way, love spreads—not by force, but by resonance. Not by preaching, but by presence.
And in that shared light, we remember: we are never truly alone.
